能源与动力工程学院前身是成立于1960年的动力工程系，学院经过60多年的发展，专业与学科建设成效显著，已具备本、硕、博完整的人才培养体系。现有全日制在校本科生1600余人、博/硕士研究生300余人。学院设有热能与动力工程系、新能源科学与工程系、汽车工程系、储能科学与工程系、热工流体力学教学部5个教学部门。

School of Energy and Power Engineering, Inner Mongolia University of Technology originates from Department of Power Engineering established in 1960. After more than 60 years of development, the School has achieved remarkable results in professional and academic discipline construction. It now boasts a complete talent cultivation system encompassing undergraduate, master's, and PhD programs. Currently, there are over 1,600 full-time undergraduate students and more than 300PhDand master’s students. The school comprises five teaching departments, namely, Department of Thermal Energy and Power Engineering, Department of New Energy Science and Engineering, Department of Automotive Engineering, Department of Energy Storage Science and Engineering, and Teaching Office of Thermal and Fluid Mechanics.

学院现拥有动力工程及工程热物理一级学科博士点(下设动力机械及工程、热能工程、工程热物理、新能源科学与工程、储能科学与工程5个学科方向)，能源动力专业博士学位授权点（下设动力工程、清洁能源技术、储能技术3个专业领域），以及能源与动力工程、新能源科学与工程、车辆工程、储能科学与工程4个本科专业。其中：能源与动力工程入选首批国家级一流本科专业建设点、教育部第一类特色专业、自治区品牌专业；新能源科学与工程入选第二批国家级一流本科专业建设点；2021年6月车辆工程专业通过中国工程教育专业认证。

In Schoolof Energy and Power Engineering, there is a first-level doctoral program in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics consisting five academic disciplines, such as Power Machinery and Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Engineering Thermophysics, New Energy Science and Engineering, and Energy Storage Science and Engineering, a PhD degree conferring program in Energy and Power Engineering in three professional fields, namely Power Engineering, Clean Energy Technology, and Energy Storage Technology, as well as four undergraduate programs, including Energy and Power Engineering, New Energy Science and Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, and Energy Storage Science and Engineering. Among these, Energy and Power Engineering has been selected as a candidate of the first group of the national first-class undergraduate program construction sites, a first-category characteristic program of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, and a brand program of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. New Energy Science and Engineering has been selected as a candidate for the second group of national first-class undergraduate program construction sites. In June 2021, Vehicle Engineering passed the professional certification by the China Engineering Education Accreditation Association.

学院现有教职工102人，其中教授17人，副教授38人，具有博士学位的教师72人。博士生导师26人(含校外)，硕士生导师88人(含校外),中国科学院工程热物理研究所、电工研究所、内蒙古能源集团上海应用物理研究所和内蒙古电力集团等校外科研机构及企业兼职研究生导师40余人。教师中获得国务院特殊津贴4人、自治区杰出人才2人、自治区能源利用首席专家1人、自治区有突出贡献中青年专家1人、草原英才9人、自治区321人才12人，草原英才创新团队4个。多人在教育部能源动力类教学指导委员会、中国工程热物理学会、中国可再生能源学会风能专委会、全国风力机械标准化技术委员会等国家以及自治区学会或专委会担任理事长、理事、委员等职务，在国内相关领域内具有较强的影响力。

The school is home to 100 faculty and staff members, including 17 professors, 30 associate professors, and 70 teachers with doctoral degrees. There are 26 doctoral supervisors , including off-campus supervisors, 88 master’s supervisors including off-campus supervisors, and over 40 part-time graduate supervisors from off-campus research institutions and enterprises such as Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics of the Inner Mongolia Energy Group, and Inner Mongolia Power Group. Four teachers have received special allowances from the State Council, and two are outstanding talents of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, one is the chief expert in energy utilization ofInner Mongolia Autonomous Region, one is a young expert with outstanding contributions of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, nine are “Prairie Talents,” and twelve are “321 Talents” of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. In the School, there are four “Grassland Talents” innovation teams. Many faculty members hold positions such as chairpersons, directors, or committee members in national and provincial level societies or specialized committees, including Energy and Power Engineering Teaching Instruction Committee of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, the Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics, Wind Energy Professional Committee of the Chinese Renewable Energy Society, and National Technical Committee on Standardization for Wind Machinery. Many teachers are leading experts in their fields in China.
